ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ms. Tannika Nikeya believes the journey is just as important as the destination. She believes in taking one day at a time and trusting God through the process—whether that be through our healing journey or life in general.

Through her writing and her brand, she provides encouragement, confidence, and the necessary tools for readers to persevere and live simply, fruitfully, and purposefully one day at a time.

Tannika Nikeya is an indie author, writer, educator, encourager, editor, and anxiety fighter. In 2014, she released her first self-published book, Setting The Captive Free, a collection of vivacious and inspiring poetry. In 2020, she released her fourth book, Bring It To The Surface Poetry & Journal, while embarking on her own healing journey. She is also the founder of Fruitful & Fabulous (John 15:8)—more than a clothing and apparel brand, it is a way of life.

A firm believer that two things no one can take from you are education and faith, Tannika has made both central to her life. Beyond writing, she has worked with underprivileged youth to prepare them for college, written for her alma mater and women’s empowerment organizations, and served her church through teaching, event planning, poetry, and skits.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English: Professional & Technical Writing and edits works ranging from research papers to web content.

Her passion for writing began at the age of 11/12 as a way of expression and because of her love for music and reading. She now encourages writers not only to write for expression and creativity but to use writing as a tool to learn about themselves and the world around them. She also inspires writers to strengthen their voices through their work.

Although often on the move, she dreams of slowing down in a cozy sunlit nook, overlooking a garden, iced mocha in hand, and lost in reading or writing. She currently resides in Illinois with her family.
